Lightroom Edits: Fashion Shoot

For this photo, I decided to have the light stand in the image, as on the Zara website, some of the photos often have other objects in their photos. In this edit, I over exposed the background by 1.06, which makes it brighter, but not completely white, like on the website. I used the spot removal tool to get rid of any blemishes on the dress and my model. I increased the shadows and blacks on the metal light to make this darker. I then increased the clarity and the saturation the my models eyes and lips, just to add a bit more colour to the overall image, as it is mostly black and white.

In this edit, I used the adjustment brush to over expose the background to 4.0. I then increased the clarity and the saturation to my models eyes, lips, eyebrows, and the necklace. This has made them stand out slight more than the rest of the image. I then used the spot removal tool to get rid of any unwanted blemishes on my models face.

I didn't do too much to this photo as I really like the original. All I did was increase the clarity on the necklace, and then I used the tone curve to increase the highlights to +11 and the lights to +11, making the overall image just a bit brighter and clearer.

I think this photo reflects the images on the Zara website because many of the pictures are very casual and natural, and I took this photo when my model was laughing about something, and so it looks very natural. The first thing I did for this edit was to over expose the whole image by +0.35, making the image brighter but not completely over exposed. I then used the adjustment brush to expose the background more. I then used the white balance tool and I selected my models arm, and it automatically made the temperature +6 and the tint of the photo -2. I then increased the back clipping because I wanted to make the clothes darker because then they would stand out more. I increased the clarity and the saturation to the necklace, the models nails and her nails. To the whole photo, I then increased the clarity to +2, the vibrance to +29, and the saturation to -5.

I slightly over exposed the background to make my model stand out. I increased the black clippings to get the dress a darker, more even colour. I then increased the fill light to bring back a bit of brightness to this image. I increased the clarity of the whole image because I then decreased the saturation and the vibrance. On the Zara website, a lot of the photos are very natural and light, and before I edited this image, it was rather dark, but again, it reflects the images I've seen online as my model is positioned in a very natural and realistic way.

I wanted to do an edit of a full length photo because I realised I hadn't done an edit like this. I used the spot removal to get rid of unwanted areas. I then used the white balance custom tool and it automatically made the temperature -17 and the tint -8. I then increased the saturation and clarity to my models lips, eyes, nail varnish and the shoes she is wearing. This makes these features stand out more. I exposed the whole image to +0.80. I increased the highlight recover to bring back some of the image that was lost from the exposure and then I increased the black to +7 bring the outfit to attention more. I then increased the clarity of the whole image to +9 and the saturation to +14. I used the camera calibration setting to decrease the tint of the shadows to -100. Finally, I then increased the saturation to the outfit to make it more visible as the main focus of these images should be the clothes as we are focusing on fashion photography for this project.

I began by using the spot removal tool to get rid of any blemishes and things on the floor. I then increased the saturation amount to my models eyes, eyeliner and her lips. I then slightly exposed the whole picture to +0.20, making the image a bit brighter. I then used the adjustment brush to increase the exposure to just the background. I then used the white balance tool and I selected the black dress, which then made the background how it looks in this photo. It automatically made the tint to -10 and the temperature of the image to +12. I then increased the black colours to make the dress stand out slight more than the rest of the model.
